XCarve CNC Assembly

I’ve been wanting a CNC Router ever since the CarveWright came out a number of years ago from Craftsman. I was really excited about the possibilities it would add to my workshop. Unfortunately, the CarveWright had awful reviews. So I bided my time until another consumer-grade CNC hit the market. The XCarve from Inventables came out not too long ago and a lot of people seemed to like it. The unusual part of the CNC is that it is a DIY kit, which means you have to put it together yourself. I’ve never put any electronics or kits like this together before, but it sure looked like fun. It took me awhile, but I got it put together without much trouble. Not only was it a lot of fun to put together, it was really valuable because I know how a CNC works and I can easily troubleshoot it if problems arise.

The video below is a vlog style video, where I give updates as I complete each stage of the build. It’s a little longer than normal, but I think it has good information. You should start seeing new CNC projects coming soon as I integrate this new tool into my workflow. Enjoy the show!
